This time
Faith, bravery and humility.
Of butter and toast and
the scrape of the knife.
Of wet grass as
boot sucks into mud.
The blessing of
a clear sky.
Of mug and blanket,
eyes shut and listening,
and a place to stand
against the cold wind.
This time asks for
everything,
but forgives
the empty-handed.
